Spring tips to make you feel good

Spring tips to make you feel good

Are you overwhelmed by all the many tasks of spring? Or have you just been waiting to get started. No matter what... here are some simple tips to enjoy spring and to cultivate a sense of joy, well-being and relaxation.

1. SPEND TIME WITH NATURE

Take a walk in the wood, work in your garden, nurture your indoor plants, create a balcony garden, or just buy some fresh flowers… Staying in touch with nature has a healing and positive effect on all humans. Nature is uplifting, it makes us sense and appreciate the little things in life. Birds song, sprouts coming out from the wet soil, a special smell, or just silence… It all helps us to calm down and just enjoy the moment.

2. MAKE SOME CRAFT

Embrace your creativity and do something with your hands. It can be painting, knitting, sewing, printing, wood carving, paper folding, or flower binding.

Crafting has a lot of positive effetcts. According to research crafting can alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and even dementia. Learning new skills also has a positive impact on our brain. So just go ahead!

If you want to get started and try some plant printing you can order a DIY print set in our online shop.

3. ORGANIZE A CORNER

Spring cleaning isn't just about tidying up your physical space - it can also have a positive impact on your mental well-being. Take some time to declutter and organize; it will lower your stress levels and keep your mind focused on something practical. Start with a limited area like your kitchen shelves or cabinets. I will instantly bring new energy into your home.

4. MAKE A SEASONAL BREAD

One of the ways for me to relax and feel good is by making bread. Besides that, a freshly baked bread always makes other people happy too. Look for fresh spring herbs and edible leaves to put on top of your botanical bread. If you are going out for picnic, the bread is perfect for delicious sandwiches.

My recipe for botanical bread:

5 dl cold water, 15 gram yeast, 1 tablespoon salt, 600 gram wheat flour (you can mix with other sorts of flour, preferable high protein flour like manitoba or tipo 00) Mix the ingredients and stir or knead the dough for at least 10 minutes. The dough should be slightly sticky. Let it rest for 6-8 hours.

Pour the dough on baking paper on an oven plate and leave it for 1-2 hours. Add olive oil, salt, seasonable herbs and edible leaves on top. Bake for 20 minuttes at 250 degrees. Enjoy!

5. CREATE A LITTLE PEACEFUL SPACE

Treat yourself with a little break from news, internet, and tv once in a while.

Create your own little quiet space at home or in your garden. A sanctuary where you can find peace whenever you need a break. Surround yourself with plants, flowers, pictures and items that spark joy. Read a book, write down your dreams, listen to your favorite music, or just enjoy the silence.

Your home is your refuge - you just have to make the best out of it.

I hope that some of these simple tips will make you enjoy the little things you can do right now, or in your spring holiday. For my own part, I am really looking forward to getting out into my garden. Gardening and working with plants is one of the most wonderful and meaningful activities I know.

Happy spring days for you!
